Pls. note:
We don't give any particular advice or mention companies on southern
Thailand Phuket, Samui, Phangnga, Krabi, water sports diving scuba big game fishing sailing canoeing
kayaking boat charter, because it can change everyday, anytime,
also the internet information's are usually not very up to date, the best
is you explore by going to one of the travel agencies in the particular
town and ask. The only thing almost sure is, what we mention here is
there during the high season from November to April, its also very
likely to be the same during the low season, but, you never know.
There are also many shops near the major beaches to serve you for buying
or renting any equipments. Many of the shops also function as a
front-end for tours.
GENERAL
During the main season from November to April the sea is quite calm and
the sun out everyday. Windsurfers will have a good time. For surfers,
between May and October the waves have the right size. Water skiing and
Jet Ski is offered at the main beaches and some beach resorts.
DIVING
Southern Thailand, in particular the area around Phuket Island, has
emerged as one of the top 5 scuba diving destination on the planet. The
variety between the
different diving areas, on the one side the exotic underwater world with
massive granite boulder around the Similan Islands northwest of Phuket
on the other side the waters around Phi Phi islands and the Phangnga
Bay with their bizarre stalactite structures. A very promising
undertaking is to go on a safari called "live aboard"
(out of Phuket)
into the untouched waters of the Myeik Archipelago in Myanmar / Burma.

SNORKELING
Not
much to say ... jump in the water.. book a tour.. rent a
long tail boat and go to a particular place, check a travel agent
nearby. Also check the places at the detail navigation up right.
CANOEING
Explore the magnificent world of the
stalactite islands and / or "Hongs" in the Phangnga Bay. A hong is
somehow
a atoll where the coral reef is replaced by a circle stalactite
formation. The inside is open on the top and you can enter through a
cave, since this cave is usually quite small only with a canoe or by
swimming you can enter. Be careful, only go with a experienced guide
otherwise you might get locked when the tide comes.
BIG GAME FISHING
Southern Thailand experienced a boom in big game fishing in the last
few years. The Andaman Sea is full of the big size guys, they just
wait for you to pull them out. Racha Island near Phuket is a very
promising place. The peak season is between June and August but its
rather a year round hunting ground. Contact a local operator.
BOAT CHARTER / SAILING
You
can hire a sailing yacht (wet or dry) or maybe a sailing boat or
for the low budget a long tail boat and have a look around.
Actually this is the best way to explore Phangnga Bay.
Do it with southern Thailand Phuket, Samui, Phangnga,
Krabi, water sports diving scuba big
game sailing fishing canoeing kayaking boat charter.
