Songkran or water festival is one of the most popular festivals in Thailand.

Its water , water , water, out from the pipe, out from the bucket, out from the pot and splash like mad.

During the songkran days everyone somehow gets mad and is somehow in high spirits or whatever you call it.

The dry time comes to and end and everyone is happy to have some rainy

days coming and songkran starts this days when the rain might approach.

The water festival is not unique to Thailand, in all the countries bordering Thailand a water festival is run around the same time. In Myanmar - Burma e.g. its called Thingyan and is performed at the same days like in Thailand with the same enthusiastic mood.
